You can translate from german too, it's probably a bit better gramatically since most of the guys here are native speakers. I am however not . Still i know enough german/english to be able to help out if needed.

The translation is a compromise between a natural, not strange text and an accuracy.
I realize that accuracy is paramount.
Accuracy is difficult and takes more time, literary translation is much easier for me. Вe sure, I am going to make it carefully in any case. I don't want to spoil the beautiful original.

It is convenient for me to translate in two stages.
1. Enough fast and closely to the original. Literary translation. The result: full, ready to use and not bad translation (I believe).
2. Very, very carefully. I'm a perfectionist so this stage may be long.

Sounds good, at least you'll get the hang of the process and what needs to be done in stage 1 and then polish the translation in stage 2.

Коалиция Планет. Как-то не нравится мне эта "коалиция". Конфедерация звучит вроде как лучше, красивше и солидней). Да и по смыслу ближе.
Может, только мне почему-то не нравится. Иль вообще Лига, Союз, Альянс. Как считаете?

- Воины [от?]праздновали падение [поражение?] "$param$ with wine and song". Не находите, что можно побрутальней? Всё-таки warriors. Как?

- Автоматическая ферма или автоматизированная. Корректно вроде бы второе, но длинно. Автоферма - это, пожалуй, плохо.

- Aquaculture Center (оригинал) - Meeresfarm.
Акваферма или лучше Морская ферма?

- Angstrom Institute. Институт имени Ангстрома? Ангстром Институт?

the lines starting with # in the morale.txt and moraleevents.txt are comments btw.

Btw, if you want to test your changes, you can get the PC version from here and simply put the files in the corresponding place. For example for moraleevents.txt create the file at data/other/moraleevents.txt next to the bote.exe. I would start with the data/strings/stringtable.xml though, that one has the most text.

Yes, I've read this post. I have no android, windows and linux-x64, only x32. But it will be not a problem to test.
Only... Some text is within enough small frames. I suppose a font size fits the frames. Often our words are long.

ISO-8859-1 aka "Latin-1".
I've kept the original Windows encoding because I wanted it to be easy for changes to be exchanged between the original version and the Java version.

But when I save a file I get the error. I can not save a file.
I get this message:
"Not all characters are representable in Cyrillic (ISO 8859-5), falling back to UTF-8."
Another text editor: "We failed to convert the encoding in 'ISO-8859-5'".

I open a file, type one our letter, try to save and get this error.
ISO 8859-5 ("Latin/Cyrillic") covers languages using a Cyrillic (our) alphabet.

ISO-8859-1 doesn't have Cyrillic symbols, I think so.
What encoding should I use? What’s the best choice in this case?
(UTF-8, ISO-8859-5, CP-1251 or other...)
